I just did a poll on my Insta today asking how peoples new year’s intentions are going. The answer is a mixed bag! So I wanted to reach out to those that are finding it hard and are maybe not where they thought they’d be at this point.
I don’t know about you, but I waved goodbye to 2020 with a big old smile on my face, a renewed sense of energy and a whole lotta hope that 2021 was going to bring something different.
I waved goodbye to 2020 with a big old smile on my face.
And unfortunately, that has not been the case.
In fact, 2021 so has actually been worse than 2020 (if that’s even possible) on the COVID front.
This third lockdown really has hit hard. Everyone I speak to is finding this one the toughest yet. The lack of connection, lack of socialising, lack of HUGS is definitely testing us as humans. And so, it is for this reason that I want to invite each and every one of you to be kind to yourself, to be soft, to be gentle and to be forgiving.
This third lockdown really has hit hard.
I certainly came into the new year with a smile on my face, ready for new challenges, new beginnings and new intentions and some of these are going well and some of them I am slower to move forward with. We are living through extraordinary times, so I’m allowing myself a little leeway with some of these intentions that aren’t yet being met and I invite you to do the same. So, this post today is for all of you that are struggling with some or all of your new year’s intentions.
We are living through extraordinary times, so I’m allowing myself a little leeway.
With that in mind, here are 4 steps you can take to get back on track with your intentions. Starting today.
It’s a Full Moon in Leo tonight, the perfect time to let go of anything that it currently causing you to feel guilty, anything that is causing you pain, anything that is making you sad. Use the powerful healing and magnetism of the moon to forgive yourself for not approaching your intentions the way you “should” have.
I always suggest a pause. Taking time away from whatever is blocking you can bring the answers you need. Whether you have 10mins, 2 hours or 3 days – a pause is a pause!
Once you’ve had your pause, come back to your intentions and ask yourself some all-important questions.
- What emotions are coming up for you with this intention?
- What is blocking you?
- Do you need to revaluate anything?
- Is there anything or anyone that could help you?
- What could happen if you achieved this intention?
- What is one thing you can do today to start working on this intention?
Ok so you’ve forgiven yourself, you’ve taken a break and you’ve challenged and re-evaluated your intentions. When you are ready, it’s time to start achieving them. BUT remember, to be kind to yourself, to be soft and to be gentle. Breakdown these intentions and make them super easy to digest.
